This is a picture of my graceful daughter Marie in my ballet L'Ombre (1839). Notice she is balancing on a flower, which highlights the wonderful job I made training her hard and using elevation and point work.

Here I leave you an excerpt from La Sylphide dance by Ellen Price, prima ballerina of the Royal Danish Ballet in 1903. This version is Bournonville's version of my original La Sylphide. Bournonville's version is really just a revival of what my original version would have looked like, but his is the one that is most danced nowadays.

This is a picture of Auguste Vestris. He relates to my career because he not only was a really great dancer of my time but also he was the principal dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet by the time I was part of it, and since I knew I didn't have a chance there I was more than happy to accpet the job as principal dancer in Stockholm.

These are some pictures of a newer version of my original ballet La Sylphide. La Sylphide revolves on an impossible

 love between a human and a spirit, and man's temptation for the unknown and sometimes dangerous life.

This is a letter I sent from London the 30th of June of 1837 addressed to my colleague Frédéric Cuvillier in Paris. In this letter I discussed the permission given to "Weber" to do as he pleases with his horse, and I also mention my recent ballet "La Fille du Danube"

 "Mr Bierfuhrer m’avoit chargé d’une commission d’un petit collet manteau, aussitôt mon ballet de la Fille du Danube donné je penser ois à lui, et je le félicite dans sa nouvelle charge. Je ne vous donne point de nouvelles de nos théâtres, les journeaux vous en donnent asséz…" 

which more nearly means...

"Mr Bierfuhrer had me charged with a little collar of a coat, once my ballet La Fille du Danube I think ois given to him and congratulate him in his new charge. I give you tidings of our theaters, newspapers give you enough..."
